Before You Start
Check Your Eligibility

What You'll Need
For Research License:
- ORCID iD (https://orcid.org)
- Institutional email address
- Research purpose description
For Commercial License:
- Company registration details
- VAT number (EU) or equivalent
- Authorized signatory
Research License Onboarding
Step 1: Create ORCID (if needed)
If you don't have an ORCID iD:
- Go to orcid.org/register
- Complete registration (free)
- Link your institutional affiliation
- Note your ORCID iD (format: 0000-0000-0000-0000)
Why ORCID? It's the standard academic identifier used by CLARIN and LDS for research access verification.
Step 2: Browse the Catalogue
- Visit Data Catalogue
- Review the 21 EuroVoc domains
- Check segment counts and pricing
- Note domain codes you need (e.g., "12" for Law)
Step 3: Verify Eligibility
Contact us with your research credentials:

Response time: 24-48 hours
Step 4: Receive License Agreement
We'll send you:
- Pre-filled license agreement
- Price quote
- Payment instructions
Step 5: Sign and Pay
- Review the agreement
- Sign (electronic signature accepted)
- Return signed agreement
- Complete payment (card, transfer, or invoice)
Step 6: Download Your Data
After payment confirmation:
- Receive download credentials via email
- Access the download portal
- Download in your preferred format:
- JSONL (segments with enrichment)
- TMX (Translation Memory)
- Moses (alignment format)
Download window: 30 days from access grant
Commercial License Onboarding
Step 1: Initial Contact

Subject: Commercial License Inquiry
Include:
- Company name
- Contact name and title
- Country of incorporation
- VAT Number (if EU-based)
- Domains Needed
- Languages Needed
- Use Case
Step 2: Receive Proposal
Within 2 business days, you'll receive:
- Custom price quote
- License agreement (LRT)
- Technical specifications
- Data samples (if requested)
Step 3: Legal Review
Your legal team reviews the agreement. Common discussion points:

Step 4: Sign Agreement

Accepted signatures: Wet ink, DocuSign, Adobe Sign, or qualified eIDAS electronic signature.
Step 5: Payment
Options:
- Invoice (30-day terms)
- Bank transfer (SEPA or SWIFT)
- Purchase order (for verified organizations)
Step 6: Access Data
Upon payment confirmation:
- Access credentials issued immediately
- API key for programmatic access (optional)
- Download in all supported formats
- Technical support available
